About the ITC SIG

March 12th, 2010

The International Technical Communication SIG of STC is the professional organization focused on localization, translation, and cross cultural communication for technology.

Activities

The ITC SIG offers members the opportunity to work together toward a better understanding of the international marketplace for technical communication.

Members collaborate on Global Talk by contributing articles and news on localization, translation, and cross cultural communication. Members are invited to join our email list.

SIG leaders are working on global membership initiatives to expand STC membership and service to members worldwide.

At the STC annual conference, the ITC SIG hosts face-to-face meetings for members and prospective members and sponsors sessions and activities with vendors and related organizations. Activities have included the International Pavilion to showcase speakers and topics of interest to SIG members and all attendees, as well as progressions, networking lunches, and business meetings.  Contact ITC SIG manager Traci Nathans-Kelly for information about the current year’s planned activities.

How to join

Membership in the ITC SIG is open to STC members only. To see the chapters and SIGs you belong to, log in on the STC site and on the page that opens, click the link to manage your profile (also at STC Members > Member Services > Account Settings). To join the SIG, download the “membership upgrade or change form” (pdf).

Complete the form and return it to STC. Please provide an email address that you check often, because communication with members is by email. To join STC, download and complete a membership application or join online.
