Which e-Learning Authoring Tool Should I Use? An STC IDL Webinar

Do you ever wonder what authoring tools to use for developing e-learning? In this webinar, three experienced users will demonstrate authoring tools, showing features as well as giving pros and cons. You’ll learn about Captivate, Articulate, and ProForma.

Join the Instructional Design and Learning SIG of STC,  Wednesday, March 17, for the e-Learning Authoring Tools Panel to see a 15-20 minute demonstration of each tool followed by a Q&A session. Three Experienced Designers and Presenters:
Gene Holden, MA. Gene has over 30 years experience in writing, editing, training, documentation, and software/application support. Gene uses a diverse set
of applications and methodologies, such as Adobe Products, PeopleSoft, benchmarking, and instructional design to provide e-learning, project management, report writing, quality assurance, and team coordination for SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. Gene holds a Master’s of Educational Technology from Pepperdine University and Bachelor of Arts from Southwest Baptist University.

Becky Lucas, CPT. Becky is founder and president of Training Partners Plus, Inc. Over the past 20 years, Becky has personally designed and developed over 150 training programs for both classroom and online delivery, as well as supported over 40 quality, business integration, systems and process improvement initiatives. Becky has been working with Articulate Presenter for over two years and has orchestrated a collaborative learning network to help other freelance and independent instructional designers learn the tool.

Neil Perlin. Neil has 30 years experience in technical communication, with 24 in training, consulting, and development for various types of online formats
and tools including WinHelp, HTML Help, CE Help, JavaHelp, RoboHelp, ForeHelp, Flare, and many now known only in legend. Neil is a columnist and frequent speaker for the STC, IEEE PCS, and other professional groups, a member of the STC’s Boston chapter, the creator and manager of the Beyond the Bleeding Edge stem at the STC’s annual conference from 1999 to 2006, and an Associate Fellow of the STC. Registration and Payment Process

  • When registering, select “Show in My Time Zone”
  • After registering, a payment page will display. Make sure the name used for registration and payment are the same.
  • March 14 is the last day to register.

Session Materials and Instructions

  • Several days after payment, you’ll receive a confirmation e-mail.
  • Several days before the Webinar expect an e-mail with iInstructions for viewing session materials and a link for the conferencing tool (GoToWebinar) and log in information.
